This was so much fun to do. This was a Sublime Stitching pattern that I embroidered onto a flour sack kitchen towel. it turned out great! It looks much better in person. I added a bunch of my own detail like the flowers on the knife and the fishnets and the shading on the bottle and a couple other things. There are 2 pictures here one is a scan and one is a photo the colors and stitching don't look like real life. I love it when an embroidery project is finished. I feel so satisfied. Look for this gem to be for sale on Etsy soon!
Click on the image for good detail!

On a brighter note.....

I started my Power Squadron Class this Tuesday. Its going to last 8 weeks. We got shiny new compasses a study book with homework! and a ruler for plotting. I will be a navigational genius in no time!

Dear Seller Lady on Ebay...

i hate you. you mentioned nowhere that i was getting a piece of paper. i read yout post over and over again to make sure i wasn't getting screwed and in fact i was buying an old finished sampler. this is what you sent me...
You sent me a picture of the sampler. it IS a nice shiny glossy print of the original. but why the fuck would i want to stitch this myself? I wish you lived near me so i could come get my money out of you.

Thanks, Tamara

The little Gentleman onesie

So Say We All Crosstich Finished!

I finished this on friday so i was able to frame it and put it on the coffee table with the "frak you, you, frakking frak" cross stitch. They were the decorations for the Finale of BSG! i think it looks damned good!

Newest Embroidery Project.

This I am making using an iron on template from SUblime Stitching. IT went on pretty dark whick is making me have to use a satin stitch for most of the work. I wanted to more of a line coloring on it but since the lines are dark i feel the need to voer them up. Dont know what im going to do as far as body coloing but i guess i think about it an do it last. i dont know why i didnt think to scan things instead of taking crappy pictures! Click on it for crazy DETAIL!

The sharpest Pencil I have ever sharpened!

I have never seen a pencil this sharp before in my whole life. Today is my lucky day! i dont want to touch it because im scared to break it.

I sold APE man!

It was very sad to see him go but i know he will have a great home. And Ii made $20!! My army of sock monkeys is dwindling. All that is left is Clifford the big red money made out of used socks with the scarily long legs (who is not for sale) and little pink stubby. They are keeping each other company at home. Nobody wants a stubby monkey i guess...

My project bag

This is a bag that i would recommend to you if you take projects with you to and from the house. Mine all travel to and from work from me. God forbid i forget a needle or floss one day i get pissed. so i made this little draw sting bag that i put whatever current project i am working on in to travel. the fabric was just of some weird boating fabric i found one time with little sayings on it. i am going to make dan a pair of shorts with this ridiculous fabric for the summer. hahaha.

I thought I would show you some of my favorite things!

These are some of my things around my desk and my floss kit that i have had since i was a kid. It has held up this long. There is my pile of fabrics that i keep next to my desk, my wine rack that i now a craft rack for my hoops and bibs and fabric and my big pile of socks of course to make sock monkeys. If anyone has a good idea on ways i can better the storage in my little work desk please please help me!

New alphabet put to use immediately

New Cross Stitch Alphabet

This is a pretty intense cross stitch alphabet i just found online. It looks awesome. And i am working on one that says "So Say We All" with it. Its a lot more complicated than a regular alphabet because i will be using 3/4 stitch with it. wish me luck!

My room mate who i taught to cross stitch is getting very good! he used the pattern of the one i made for him and made this one.

BSG crafting!

I brought in these to work today and already sold them to my fellow nerds here at work. And i have another order already for more! I love these very very much. I made them all yesterday during pj and movie day.

This weekend my two little sisters came to visit. We decided to have a craft night. These are some pictures of Heather and Ashley that night. My sisters are hilarious. There was obviously alot of drinking involved. Ashley made a really awesome sock monkey and we made an awesome one for my mom. She loved it!

Newest Map Project Completed.

This didn't take me very long and it is a first in a series. It will be different islands from my nautical maps. The islands will be places around the tri-state area. This one has many different stitches used to make it including: stem stitch, silk stitch, back stitch, french knot and the use of my sewing machine. Pretty cool huh? I have also included a full size of the flour sack towel its size is 33x38inches and there is a picture of the back of it so you can see now not that messy it is.

New Project!

When i was in Wisconsin i picked up a couple flour sack towels. i love them and they are easy to embroider and look great when finished. So i am using copies from my sea charts to make different islands on the towels. i think they will work as table cloths too. I will use my sewing machine to make the pink lines and then hand sew on the island bit. This first one is Block Island.
