Andrew's Wallet

My cousin Andrew stayed over on Friday night and wanted a new wallet so I gave him one and he asked if I could show him how to embroider his last name on it. I said "OF COURSE" He did such a fantastic job! Embroidered white on the black, and black on the white. Genius.

That's Money Honey!

I've been sick all weekend so I have made quite a few new cross stitches! Here are 2 of them. "That's Money Honey" is another quote from Lady Gaga. All the new cross stitches I'm doing will all be available to purchase at the Renegade Craft Fair!

On the front page of Etsy!

My friend Bryan of SCALEwkshp (check it out) texted me to tell me that his beautiful couples bed light was on the front page of Etsy again and so I went to check it out and lo and behold! My "Don't forget to write" cross stitch was right up there with it! What are the odds?!?!?

The time of year has come again for Renegade Craft Fair. It is this summer, June 5&6th at McCarren park. I will be sharing a booth with Jill Davis From JDavis Studio again! I can't wait.

This year I will be doing less baby stuff and more billboard bags, wallets, passport protectors, sock monkeys and cross stitches. Please please come out and visit and buy stuff!! There will be so many cool vendors this year check them out at

Starting My Garden

I finally got my Ready Made subscription again, and its a good thing I did. Right in time for starting my garden, there was an article about how you can make starter pots with newspaper cups. This is such a great idea. Instead of using plastic seed starter sets, you make newspaper cups that you can transfer right in to the ground, because the newspaper is biodegradable and you don't disturb the roots of the seedlings when planing. What a money saver.
This year I'm growing a tone of herbs. And hopefully some swiss chard.
What are you planting this year??

Make Your Own Toothpaste!

I have always wanted to make my own toothpaste, but have been really lazy about it. After I made my own deodorant (its the best I've ever used!). I thought I should give toothpaste making a try.
I used these instructions I found just googling toothpaste and finding the recipe that made the most sense and was the easiest. They are all just about the same I figured out. There are not many ingredients and the directions are simple. I used peppermint oil to make it taste better and it turns out its almost exactly like my arm and hammer baking soda peppermint toothpaste, except it costs next to nothing to make. I put it in an altoids tin, and whenever I brush my teeth I just stitck the tooth brush in and grab some paste!
One tip I will give you is don't put as much salt in it as the recipe tells you! It makes it almost unbearably salty and your tastebuds freak out (at least mine did). Please try this! I think you will like it.

  1. Mix three parts baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) with one part table salt (sodium chloride).
  2. Add three teaspoons of glycerine for every 1/4 cup of dry mixture.
  3. Add enough water to make a thick paste. If desired, a few drops of peppermint oil may be added to improve the taste.
  4. Apply and use just as you would any other toothpaste. Store unused toothpaste at room temperature in a covered container.
